BSG Season 3 Finale Review(?)

Well, here’s a rant about last night’s BSG Season 3 finale, it contains major spoilers, pure speculation, fangirl-like gushing and me going off on tangents. It’s long-winded and well, abuses the English language so consider yourselves warned.

BSG Review

So while BSG usually makes me squee/be emotionally exhausted, it’s been a while since I’ve felt this need to reevaluate my reactions to a certain episode. Last night’s ep., and my subsequent reaction really opened my eyes to certain views I wasn’t aware I had. I recommend people not read beyond this point, because it’s mostly just me rambling.

Annoyed

How the hell did I end up owing the government money?! What the hell did I do?! *Grumble, grumble*
Don't want to pay some place to do my taxes, even with my state refund I come away losing $4 and that's so damn frustrating. Just where are they getting off with this?!
I'm off to bed now, maybe sleep will calm my nerves and I can review this at a later date.

(no subject)

So this past weekend I went down to Peoria, my first visit down there since Kristi and Brandon had been married and it was a good time. Friday, work was bat-shit crazy but in the process I got the CFO to agree to let me get a new computer, which will make my job just so much easier. After work and getting gas I began the uneventful drive down. I got in around my usual time and we exchanged belated birthday/Christmas gifts, relaxed and hung out before going to bed.
The next day I joined Kristi at the Peoria Art Guild, but it was one of those rare days where since everyone else was out there wasn't much to do and we ended up just hanging out and I checked out the exhibits.
After work Kristi and Brandon took me to Chamilles Sidewalk Cafe, where hte food was awesome and I got to enjoy a smoothie even. After dinner Kristi and I went on a quest to find Highlander. I say quest because we went to 3 different video stores before we finally found the original we were looking for. The other two had the same two copies of the sequels. The movie was fun entertainment, but Kristi's commentary certainly made the sex scene more amusing to watch.
After the movie we headed out to Richards for Amanda's birthday party. Throughout the night we were introduced as the Bryan Sector, where we proceeded to explain why we shouldn't be. Jill and Randy were also part of the B.S. as well, and fun times were had as we all hung out, and I was periodically recruited to move to Peoria. We also made plans to have a girl's night out in two weeks, the last one was in This being wanted by people is a strange new sensation for me, but I very much feel loved when I'm down there.
We left Richard's around 1 to 1:30, braving the cold, and spent some time looking at possible hair-styles for Brandon before retiring for bed. On Sunday we woke up, had muffins that were baked the night before for breakfast (they were good, I was very happy) and just spent a very relaxing time until I had to leave. The drive back was similarly uneventful, I came back just as the Dresden files were starting so I watched that and BSG, geeked out and then went to bed.

Today work wasn't as bad as Friday, still busy but considerably less so. I was even able to get a quote for a possible new computer, which makes me extremely happy, this new computer would be like a life-saver to me.
The Art Institute is having a Silk Road Exhibit, and admission during most of February is free! I was thinking of going this weekend but after realizing that the Superbowl is this Sunday have determined to stay as far away from Chicago as possible. Which considering I hardly ever go into the city won't be too hard. I plan on going the 17th instead.
Also I tend to notice the backward trend of American politicians, primarily because I live in the US, but to be fair the Japanese health Minister has recently called women "birth-giving machines". Granted this dude is 71, and I generally take anything people over 60 say about women with them just not being able to adapt to the times. Still to have a high-ranking official state such a thing, even in response to the possible threat of the decline in welfare state does put things in perspective.
Japan's birth-rate has been on a steady decline as more "women choose to remain in the work-force". Personally I don't think the problem is women wanting to stay in the work-force, it's that women are expected to stop working as soon as they get married, so more people choose to stay unmarried, and thus are less likely to have kids in general.
The Prime Minister is being pressured to fire him, at least that shows some thinking.

And as I promised Kristi

Been a while.

It's been a pretty quiet few weeks, after everything is considered. This past week I started my accounting class and was pleasantly surprised to see that some people I had befriended in the previous accounting class had decided to sign up for this one as well.
Friday I fell asleep around 12:45am, and was woken up around 1:30 due to the fire alarm. In the past they had all been false alarms, and last about 10 minutes. I waited the 10 minutes and when it still didn't stop put on my winter gear and decided to go out. As I was walking down the stair-case I noticed smoke coming from the first floor, the firemen were already there doing something so I stepped outside to stay out of the way, joining the 5 other people that were out there. I actually finally met a few of the people that are on my floor but not on my wing, we talked and chatted for a bit. After a while the firemen came out and said it's ok for the people on the second and third floor to return so we went back inside to the warmth. Turns out to be some chemical exploded to cause all the smoke. My first thought was drug related mis-hap and then realized that that probably would've caused an actual explosion, not just some heavy dense smoke that, really shouldn't be inhaled.
Around 11pm Saturday I began to get a pounding head-ache and decided to take some aspirin and go to bed. The next morning I woke up, the head-ache was still there and was feeling nauseous. I stayed in bed till around 3 before I decided to make myself some soup. I am quite sure it was something I ate since I didn't have a fever, perhaps it was the eggs I had in my ramen the night before, or the smoke that I inhaled Friday night.
By the time Dresden files and BSG rolled around I was feeling much better so I was glad. I enjoyed the Dresden files, and will definitely be watching it next week again. In BSG I <3 it, and I also kept on crushing on the characters, Laura (all she has to do is be there to make me love her, but especially her confrontation with Helo, that quiet disapproval), Adama (especially when he grabs Helo by the arm to keep him from Laura), Helo (my god, I was majorly crushing on him this ep), Caprica Six (I enjoy her turmoil immensely), and Sharon and Baby Hera (just general love).
After BSG I took a shower and went to bed. Btw, I am immensely enjoying my programmable coffee pot. I now wake up to the sound of coffee brewing. It is, without a doubt, awesome if a little bit annoying.

The Holidays

Well last month was certainly an interesting month. There isn't much fun things in the traditional sense of the word, but there were happy times and sad times. I was pleasantly surpised at the outpour of good will towards me at work after my grandma's death. To be honest I was surprised just how much it hurt to lose her, and for awhile the cynic in me receded and I became an emotional wreck. The smallest things set me off, the guys in FL whom I've only met once, would send me an e-mail sympathy card and I fought to keep from crying right there. I have written long records of the experience of the wake and the funeral, but to sum it up it was full of laughter, crying, and as is the case when the entire family gets together, annoyingness.

After seeing the rest of my family off on Tuesday, I soon followed them to Mexico on Saturday the 23rd to spend Christmas and New Years with them.

I arrived in San Diego airport around 6pm(PST) that day, met up with my parents smoothly and off to Mexico I was. It was night and I was still in apprehensive about this trip. Having been couped up in my studio with Erin for 2 weeks prior, with Ken for 1 week prior, I didn't know how I was going to manage to stay sane with my parents, Ken, Erin and I all living in a 1 bedroom condo. My worries did continue, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Though I was still bummed from missing out on all the crazy galore that comes along with this holiday in the Midwest, all the lights, the trees, even the cold that is alright during the 2 magical days of Christmas; seeing the blue ocean, the clear blue sky, the lush green palm trees and the Spanish style white architecture that morning did take my breath away.
It took me a few days to admit it, but I was taken in by the beauty of the ocean. I spent hours just watching the waves roll in, mesmerized by it all. On my last day there I sat at my mom's desk to check her computer, and the desk faces right out into the ocean. Even to the last minute, the ocean captivated me. It was truly painful to have to leave sitting out on the warm terrace, reading my book or eating as the sun poured down me, where all I could wear is a swim suit and a light kimono to feel comfortable, to the harsh reality of well, the cold.
While the view and ocean were great there was one thing I severely missed during the trip and it was my bed. Since my parents can't move furniture done till they get their FM3 visas (takes a month or two), they have limited furniture and Erin, Ken and I were delegated to sleep on the floor. Hard, terracotta tiled floors. The first night after I got back was also the first night I was able to sleep an entire night through without waking up at all... though that could just be exhaustion. (I came home on the red-eye which got me home at around 5am, and was at work at 8am...)

An update - Looking back

Livejournal is driving me insane, for some reason when I go to update it's not letting me change the userpic. So but that is not the point.

Backtracking a few weeks, wow, already 3 weeks ago to Kristi and Brandon's wedding. Happy belated congratulations! It was a beautiful ceremony. The weather outside was an amazing 60degrees with clear skies, a rarity in the midwest at that time of year, we didn't even need our coats.
I joined Kristi in the dinner with Brandon's family the night before, which was a great fun. The food at the restaurant was just absolutely delicious, and was a good time. After dinner Brandon and his family went to go see the house and Kristi and I went to her parents house, where we, well Kristi put on both of our make-ups in preparation for the big day. We had a good time just sort of hanging out and being girly.
On Sunday we got up around 8, had some breakfast before we got ready to go to Jill's to get our hair done. Jill did an awesome job, Kristi's hair looked absolutely amazing, (with the multitudes of bobby pins) and she managed to keep my hair curled for the entired duration of the wedding. Also, Jills house had almost as many clocks as I eventually want to own.
After our hair we drove over to the contemporary art center to get prepared. There was some technical difficulties in getting Kristi dressed, primarily the fact that we couldn't find the little hooks for the back of the dress. Once everything was solved though, Kristi looked absolutely gorgeous. Once she was dressed people came out to take pictures and give her well wishes.
We stepped outside to have some formal wedding pictures taken of Kristi, and then the ceremony started. The wedding ceremony was just beautiful, Kristi and Brandon both just looked so happy, and the toast Jim gave was great. After the ceremony the wedding party went out to have more pictures taken, with lots of fun photo's being taken. After that we went back inside to the reception which good times were had by all, and the food was delicious.
Now I haven't been to a lot of weddings, but I must say this is the most efficient one I have been to. There was no extensive period between the ceremony and reception, where you just sort of stand and mingle not quite sure what is going on, or where there is much confusion at the ceremony. There was no extensive lingering by people, the clean-up was very smooth and quick. It was, quite literally, amazing at how everything went so well.

Monthly Update

Well the rents were officially off to the East coast this weekend. Mom and dad are currently trekking out to CA to wait on their closing of the condo in Mexico, in the meanwhile Mom will fly back next Friday with the Guv to spend more time with Grandma, staying until Erin comes back early December, where they will then fly out to (hopefully) Mexico a week later. I will follow them then a week later to spend the holidays under the Mexican sun.
This is assuming that the condo closes before the holidays. If it doesn't then Erin, Mom and I will stay put in the Midwest while Ken and Dad fly out here to spend the holidays. In which case Erin and Ken may end up staying with me for that duration. I have no clue where mom or dad will stay, or what it will be like.
I think that basically explains my family's current situation in a nut-shell... it was a hectic weekend for mom and dad, with the move and closing I know mom almost had a nervous breakdown Friday when she called me at work not in tears but ready to collapse. They ended up spending Friday night at my place, where I tried to cheer them up and made them watch BSG with me. Unfortunately they fell asleep during it.
But now they are safely on the road.

Also I have been very good at not getting too jealous of Erin's SAS trip, however the other day when I heard she was in Egypt (right before Ken headed to Istanbul to meet up with her) it hit me full force. I began making weird noises (Phoenetically they went something like this: Vvvuuuuu Umyuuu....vvvvvvvvvvuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu) ...... now that I think about it... I was a mid-20's woman making sounds like a little kid that doesn't know how to speak...how embarrassing. Anyway Egypt is one of the Top 3 places I want to go to before I die, and to know that my sister was there, actually touching a stone of the Egyptian pyramid, seeing the burial chambers and smelling the unpleasant smell of camels (or so I've been told) I was hit by a wave of utter jealousy. She is now in Croatia, and jealousy has subsided.

Belated Bachelorrette Party Extravaganza

Well I know I said I'd update by monday but I'm notoriously bad for updating, so instead here is a re-cap of Kristi's Bachelorette party a week ago.
I met up with Kristi at her work before we headed back to the house to get ready for the party and then drove to Joe's Crabshack, where we met Jill right as we arrived and Carey and Amanda soon followed. We ordered our girly drinks in fish bowls(awesomeness!), which were yumtastic, we ended up passing them around and taking sips from each drink. The food was good, the drinks great but the company was exquisite. We were all just having a good time hanging out, and while I had met all the girls seperately before it was great to be able to meet them all at once, they are such a great bunch!
After food we headed over to Icons, a new dance club, and had more to drink and danced. There was Metallica and Timewarp for us! Strangely we were the only one's dancing the Timewarp, who doesn't love the Timewarp? And as I said before I just need to be sufficiently drunk to let my inner ham out of the bag. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, and while Carey had to leave early and Jill went to sober up at Richards, Amanda, Kristi and I stayed until the bar closed. It was a night of just pure awesomeness, everyone was great and I had a blast, at one point I think I was sitting on the dance floor just laughing like crazy and attempting to pole-dance(that endeavor was given up quickly). I usually don't go to dance bars but this was such a great experience, I would definitely do it again.

The next morning we woke up around noonish and had some apple cider doughnuts Brandon had bought, and relaxed for a bit before I headed back up to Chicago and Kristi went to a baby shower.

My parents moving to Mexico, which was supposed to be this coming Thursday has now been delayed a week due to complication on the buyer of our house's end. As much as I know mom and dad are ready to go but I know they need the extra week to finish up. And since they'll be staying longer I don't feel this need to spend time with them.

I want you! (Father Ver.)

Yeeha!

I don't know where the title came from, but this is Kristi's computer and we just got in from the bachelorette party and it was Awesome! It warrants capital A because it was that great. There will be a more detailed update at a later date (hopefully by monday) But I am in the winding down process of drunkinness.
Peace out.
P.S: Kristi, Jill, Carey and Amanda are all great and awesome people.

My monthly update

It appears I only update my journal once a month now... and it isn't that I don't have things to post, I just don't want to bore people with my inane ramblings from how long after the sell by date are eggs good to current events. Though there are a few things to note:

My parents house safely sold and they'll be moving to Mexico on November 2nd. Last week we moved the kotatsu from my parents house, and went through the remainder of my things at the house. Being the last remaining kid in the vicinity can get quite annoying at times like this, as it feels they're trying to pawn things off to me(Though they've been doing it for a few years now). As a result I now have about 4 extra bed sheets, (one of which are brand new though). This week they'll be coming back up to give me an extra mattress for my day bed (So it's easier to sit on) and dad's old bike. And that should be all.

I love my parents and am going to miss them when they move but a part of me wants them to just be moved already so they'll be able to breathe. My mom's acting like the energizer bunny, and I can't keep up. (Such as trying to convince me to take a burgandy leather vest, now I like leather but I'm not a huge burgandy fan, especially when the cut looks so, well cow-boy-ish or reject 80's)
On the plus side while going through their stuff dad found an old pocket watch that most likely belonged to his great-grandpa from the Elgin watch company. We're going to try and get it repaired and then I'll get to keep it. Hee hee, my watch/clock collection is steadily growing.

Kristi's Bachelorette party is this weekend, followed by her wedding the next weekend.
I will be seeing Ken on November 5th, when he stops by for his 6 hour layover on the way to Istanbul. (Can't go back to Constantinople) Where he will meet up with Erin on her trip.
So while my parents are moving to another country, and my brother and sister are in the mid-east living it up I will be in mid-west suburbia.

Updated

Please go send well wishes and thoughts to Laurel.

There hasn't been many news going recently, except that my sister is now off to Semester at Sea. She's going to be chronicling her trips at her LJ [info]sonami, which I will be living vicariously through her.
Last Sunday Erin and I hung out watching more episodes of Entourage, hanging out and having the last hurrah before she left. It was a good relaxing time, though I was very tired and did end up taking a nap in the afternoon, there wasn't any thing that really happened, though I did take her to the Cheesecake factory, which I figured was something that she wouldn't get on the trip, and talked about certain things from fandom to everyday mundane things.
In other news while my parents went with her to see her off the San Diego port, and also to look at houses while they were out there, and they came back and asked me what I would think if they moved to Mexico. After I got over my initial shock(Mom was willing to go through living in foreign country again?), and they seemed genuinely excited I realized I was OK with it. Especially since they'll only be an extra 1.5 hours away from where they originally planned to move, there isn't really any difference, and the cost of condo's are much cheaper, and they found one they really liked in a nice area, so maybe once the house sells that's where they'll move.
Though while I was talking to them about this, I did tell them that I really doubted I'll ever move out to the west coast. Even with everything else being equal, the west and california has absolutely no appeal to me. I'm sure it's a wonderful state, and I know the weather is great, but I don't understand why it's any better than any other place.
They were ok with that and it seemed to finally sink into them that as much as I miss Ken, and am going to miss them when they move, it would take more than family or weather to move me out there.
Sunday I caught a glimpse of the Emmy's right in the announcement for lead actress in drama and flicked away after scowling, I know it's been all over the place, but Mary McDonnell really should've been there.
Amusingly when I went to work on monday after the weekend, one of my co-workers commented that I actually looked 'refreshed'. And in completely unrelated to anything else, I have found an OT3.... it feels very weird, extremely weird.

"Tutankhamen and the Golden Age of Pharoahs"

Originally this was going to be updated with the next post, but it got so long, and I figured better to break it up. This is a detailed review of the King Tut Exhibit in the Field Museum, which I have been excited for since I first heard the news it was coming about 2 years ago. That's right, this is what 2 years of anticipation culminated, this is fair warning.

(no subject)

I promised I would update about a week ago... um, yes this is me here being sporradic. On Sunday I was suddenly hit by a nasty bit of stomach problems(presumably either the Somen I had late Sat. night, or the pasty I picked up from Panera that morning) so I spent most of Sunday afternoon lying down on my bed and groaning. I think I tried to watch more BSG but I have to re-watch it since I kept on blocking it out.

But aside from the fact that the latter part was painful, I am extremely loving the show. And while I like all of the characters on the show, Laura simply just takes the cake, after every scene she's in I want to scream, "I Love her! She's great!" It might be a little bit disturbing if not for the fact that she has this effect on many other women. I thank Kristi for introducing me to it, and the fact that the long hours of watching is not painful at all. It's very hard to pace myself because I want to watch more, but I need to hold myself over.

It's amusing that I go to Peoria(3hours away) and spend an entire weekend, yet I have been to Ohio and back in one day. I had to go with my boss to go to one of our customer's to do a presentation for our new networking system. It was a good presentation but one of our customer's gave us the entire life story of one of his old co-workers who was from China. Certainly interesting story, not when thinking about what time I'm going to get home.

Ken is back in the midwest from LA so tomorrow we'll be going to the King Tut exhibit at the Field museum. Which I am EXTREMELY excited about.

Lina from "Chris_sky"

After a long hiatus

Well, it has been 2 full months since I updated... I think the last time I did this was back in 2004 when I just sort of disappeared off the face of the earth. Unfortunately real life kept me busy through most of June and I was stressed about it through most of May. But here is a broken down list of things that have happened since I last updated.

Finished my accounting class and got an A in it. I am taking the summer off from classes before starting up again in the Fall. Started a work out program and then fell out of it, but have found out that if I put my mind to it, I CAN work out and actually enjoy it.
My cousin (Amar) got married on June 11th(Yeay) in a suburb of Boston and I have fallen in love with that city. The food was absolutely Superb with my first ever Lobster, Boston Cream Pie and just the sea food. I also liked the architecture and the general feel of the city, and even though the weather was crappy I still thought it was beautiful, so that says something. I got a very nice dress for the wedding, open back, but unfortunately my camera's batteries died out so there aren't any pictures of me in it. But I got a beautiful shot of Amar and Diane that I am very proud of. While the trip was a lot of fun I was exhausted by the end, and I had to fly first thing Monday morning and went straight to work, which was not fun.

The NPE Show, one of the 2 shows that fills the entire McCormick Place, and I worked 70 hours during the week of the show. I was the attendee that showed customer's how to use our new Production/Quality (PQ) management system, so they hired 3 models to be the receptionists, one which is the current Miss IL. I had to stand for the entire duration and I could feel how spoiled I have been with a desk job. Near the end I was wearing tennis shoes but my legs were still killing me. The show was a lot of fun, getting to meet customer's I've only talked to on the phone, and perhaps the thing that interested me the most was seeing how Saran wrap was made. I met a lot of the reps which were very fun, and it was this job that has me going to OH sometime this month to visit customers. Interesting.

I moved into my new studio apartment between going to Boston and the show and have finally settled into it. It's about 300 sq.feet smaller than my last one but it feels much cozier and all my furniture manages to fit nicely (though I flipped the living and sleeping sides) There are only 2 regrets, there is no place to hang Laurel's painting and I can't use my room divider screen. I have also gotten cable, so I can watch my shows come October.

I now have Photoshop CS2. Yeay!

Week in a nutshell

Let me just hit on the Things that are Going Well in my life.
*A new unit has been found for me to move into come June, it's just in the next building over, and I have at least 2 guys helping me out so it's one less thing to worry about.
*Work gave me a Starbucks gift card this year for Admin. Professional's day. I was very happy and it made my day.
*Accounting class, I think I did good on the test, that makes me feel good.
*The weather. I love it, it's nice and springy, warm during the day but cooler at night so I can fall asleep.
*Mitsuwa had a Japanese snack fair last weekend, where they imported different types of snacks not normally sold here in the US from various parts of Japan. I had Oosaka Mitarashi Dango, where instead of the sauce being draped on top, it's inside. It was gooooooood.
*I have a new hobby, knitting!
*Am writing a Bleach fanfic...., not necessarily a good thing, but I have fun doing it.
*My HP Doujinshi(fanzine) came. A Black-family centric comedy, featuring wacky!Bella&Cissa that dress Remus up as a maid and throw out all his clothes, adorable-obsessed-with-his-brother!Regulus who curses both Remus and James(Cries while he curses James), Sirius reason for leaving his family was because he ended up engaged to Snape, Going-my-Way!James who will fly in unannounced and nearly kills Sirius, Sirius splitting in two, it was good.

Yesterday morning, started out to be a good day, I got up early enough to relax and enjoy the morning for almost an entire hour, I walked out into the hallway and they had finished recarpeting the floor, the weather was nice and I went in my car, thinking happy thoughts.
The damn thing wouldn't start. I wiggled the wheel, spent a couple of minutes trying to get it to start and it wouldn't. After that I walked over to the other side of the apartment complex to hopefully catch Cedric before he left. I walked up right as he was pulling out and asked him for a ride.
And it had to happen on a Thursday of all days, the one day I actually have obligations to go somewhere after work.
Cedric was nice enough to offer to take a look at it later that day. In the afternoon when I went to give it one more try it started no problem. Stupid car, was it just mad I hadn't given it a wash?

Rob Zombie and Lacuna Coil Concert

It. Was. Amazing.

Ok, I guess I should elaborate a little, I took yesterday afternoon off of work to drive down to Peoria for the concert. I got Kristi and I Wendy's, which neither of us had had in a long time and had a quick dinner. We met at her apartment around 5:15, during which I had a quick sampling of Lacuna Coil's new CD. We got the make up on(Kristi was nice enough to do mine as well!) and we took a whole bunch of pictures of us just goofing around.
After the dressign up and photo shoot session, Kristi drove us to the East Peoria Convention Center and we got there at a good time, around 6:40, the concert was scheduled to start at 7:30 and we got right close up to the stage. There was no seating in this place, and even though the tickets said no moshing/body surfing we knew it was bound to happen. So anyway we got up close and kept an eye out for Kristi's friends, trying to spot them but sadly we did not. I kept on standing on my tip toes to look over the crowd but it wasn't all that helpful. During this time we had found out that the opening band cancelled, which was a group I didn't even recognize, and really I was there to see Lacuna Coil so all was good. There was also this guy that was stoned out of his mind in front of us that was creeping us out a little, but luckily he left the area before the concert started and we were hanging out with these two guys that were behind us.
Then, Lacuna Coil came on. It. Was. Amazing. There is absolutely not enough words in the english language(or I don't know enough words) to describe how simply awesome of a show it was. I knew they were going to be great, but seeing them live, I am simply in love with them. Being so close to the stage made the experience that much more phenomenal. It was pure love I tell you, pure love. There was this one guy behind me that was trying to body surf but since I wasn't paying attention to what was going on behind me I felt his weight on my shoulder and by the time I turned around to try and help him, he was already closer to the ground. After that my attention was simply on the concert. Actually it's all starting to feel like a blur, where I was just shouting and dancing and just having the best of times that I can't recall all the details.
After Lacuna Coil and a short intermission afterwards, Rob Zombie came out and the moshing happened. Now this was an experience. This was my first time in the mosh pit and there were people pushing us all around and a guy humping me behind me. No matter how many times I pushed him away with the elbow he didn't get the idea and I was getting nervous with the moshing and if Kristi wasn't holding on to my arm I'm afraid we may have gotten seperated. We then moved a bit out to avoid the moshing and Kristi found the guys we were hanging out with before during Lacuna Coil but the creepy guy came with, and when I tried to get further away he kept on pulling me back, and the hip grinding continued. Halfway through I just decided What the hell, it's a Rob Zombie Concert, just go with the flow, but when he started snaking his arm around me and rubbing me I elbowed him and tried to push him away, but he continued until humping me till a guy trying to get in front cut in between and I was extremely relieved. Eventually creepy guy sobered up and stopped, and when Kristi and I managed to weave our way out of the crowd to get to the bathrooms he didn't follow. (All the while this was going on Kristi tried to pull me away but this guy kept on pulling me back). After we came out we stayed on the outter rim of the mosh pit and I felt much more relieved without some guy behind me. We stayed for the first encore and rocked out, and then left before the second one in order to beat traffic, which we did manage to do, and even were able to buy some shirts before that. We went back to Kristi's apartment then and relaxed for a bit before we headed to bed.
We both got up around 8 this morning, got ready before Kristi left for work and I started my drive back to Chicago.

Looking Back

After my drama of last weekend, which continued throughout the week, I have finally gotten a chance to regroup and calm myself enough to feel relaxed and feel as though several weights have been lifted off my shoulders, even if it is a Monday.
1. Grandma: I've calmed down enough to be able to think back to all the good memories we had back in the summers when we would stay at her place.
2. The accounting exam I was certain I bombed, I got an A on, in fact I only missed 3 questions. Viva EMMM method! or something along those lines. It's scary because rarely have I ever taken a test and felt like a complete idiot as I did on that exam.
3. Had a 1.5 hour discussion about the immigration policy debate(or lack there of) with Ken on Sat. It ended up with us coming up of possible ways to help the democratic party, and then lamenting that no matter how practical these ideas are the democratic party would never implement them, lazy bastards. (I am a progressive, but I have no love for the democratic party)
4. Had fun speaking to Kristi yesterday and firmed up plans for this week's concert, as well as me unloading my frustration with testosterone on her. Many photo's will be taken pre-concert, and this time I'll upload them.
5. Watched Battle Star Galactica Mini Series. Dark, serious heavy sci-fi series, what is not to love? I still need to commit these people's names to memory, it's just that sometimes things take awhile, especially when they are referred to predominantly by title, i.e., I really like Lee, Starbuck and the Commander's relationship, or rather the drama involved in it, the back story and the point where it starts out. The character drama is good, and it is built up very real, these characters, even in just a mini-series are fairly well fleshed out, and I walked away extremely impressed.
6. Spoke a lot on the phone this week, Ken, Kristi and Erin, discussing any and random things with each of them.
7. What a wonderful day out it is today, cool breeze and blue skies, makes you want to go skipping down the hills.

(no subject)

(selfish sulk) Never, NEVER, even so much as think things can't get worse because they will, in my case it was the news that grandma is dying of a rapidly spreading mutant colon cancer. (/selfish sulk)
